Automobiles in Germany's City Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Roughly fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Law enforcement say they were notified late on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.

Police then located many other vandalized cars and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement say initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely human blood.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; officials are presently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they added.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have appealed to the residents for details.

A high-ranking representative commented the incident rendered him stunned and had to be resolved promptly.

"This incident strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right violent incident in 2020," he stated on social media, recalling the killing of nine victims by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
